Multiple graduate student positions in philosophy of science research

Funding is available for multiple students, in particular graduate students (M.Sc. or Ph.D.), to pursue research in the area of philosophy of science.

The Chair is located in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), a French-language university in the heart of Montreal that also welcomes non-French-speaking graduate students. The department of philosophy has about 20 permanent faculty members, 1000 undergrads and 50 graduate students.

Successful applicants will be funded by grants such as those from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Fonds de Recherche du Québec Société et Culture (FRQSC), and the grants of the Chair. Research assistant positions will also be funded, depending on the specific research projects of the Chair (see Research). In addition to funding for specific projects, there are numerous fellowship opportunities for Canadian and international postdocs and doctoral students.

If you are interested in joining the Chair, please contact Christophe Malaterre with information about yourself including a CV, your research interests in philosophy of science, and how you see yourself fitting in to the activities of the Chair. Check also the French version of this website.
